Hey, hey, hey…..we KNOW you like to wear your Dogeared jewelry 'round clock, but to keep your pieces sparkling clean, we have a few recommendations.
* Water promotes oxidation, so remove your jewelry before you swim, shower, wash dishes, participate in sweat-inducing workouts... you get the idea.
* Be gentle with your jewels: direct contact with chemicals in hairspray, perfume and cosmetics is stickly and icky for jewelry. We are not a fan of harsh jewelry cleansers or cloths with abrasive compounds either.
* Gently buff your jewelry with polishing cloth to help remove any oils or tarnish.
OR use the method below for hard to reach places....... :-
TO CLEAN STERLING SILVER:-
Step 1: Take a small bowl that holds about a quart of water and line it with aluminum foil.
Step 2: Add hot water, a tablespoon of baking soda and stir.
Step 3: Place your silver jewelry in the solution for about one minute, rinse clean and let air-dry.
TO CLEAN GOLD PLATED PIECES:
Gently clean using a soft toothbrush and a bit of mild dishwashing liquid in warmish water. Rinse well and pat gently to dry thoroughly. Be sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing.
TO CLEAN SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS:
Our little lovely sparkly Swarovski crystals need extra care. Use a soft toothbrush with warmish water to clean and pat dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Do not use the baking soda method for items with Swarovski crystals.
ADDITIONAL TIPS:
Store your jewelry in a zippered baggie or pouch to keep oxygen away from the surfaces.
